Overview

I offer both the 10-hour and 30-hour General Industry OSHA Outreach Training Courses in and around the Pittsburgh area. Both courses include mandatory training topics plus your choice of electives and reference materials. Upon completion of either course, you'll receive a card by mail to show your participation in the program. 

Individuals who want to complete the training course will be organized into groups of at least three. Class sizes have a maximum of 30 participants.

Classes are held on weekends, though weekdays are available upon request, and can be held at your organization's facility or in a separate location.

Pricing is customizable for each group and each group must have a minimum of 3 people. Contact me for more information.

OSHA 10-Hour Course

The OSHA 10-Hour Outreach Course is appropriate for workers who want to build their safety knowledge. You'll walk away with a better understanding of your rights, responsibilities, how to file complaints and how to abate, avoid and prevent hazards in the workplace. Subject matter includes:

  • Introduction to OSHA
  • Walking and Working Surfaces, including fall protection
  • Exit Routes, Emergency Action Plans, Fire Prevention & Protection
  • Electrical
  • Personal Protective Equipment
  • Hazard Communications
  • Electives - choose at least two:
    • Hazardous Materials
    • Materials Handling
    • Machine Guarding
    • Introduction to Industrial Hygiene
    • Blood-borne Pathogens
    • Ergonomics
    • Safety and Health Program
    • Fall protection
  • 1 hour can be catered to exploring additional electives or focus on a specific industry

Classes will be held consecutively and usually take place Friday and Saturday in 8 hour increments with breaks for lunch.


OSHA 30-Hour Course

The OSHA 30-Hour Outreach Course is great for supervisors and managers who have active safety responsibility. The coursework emphasizes hazard identification, avoidance, control and prevention, and you'll be able to choose the electives that are important to you. Subject matter includes:

  • Introduction to OSHA
  • Managing Safety & Health
  • Walking and Working Surfaces, including fall protection
  • Exit Routes, Emergency Action Plans, Fire Prevention & Protection
  • Electrical
  • Personal Protective Equipment
  • Hazard Communications
  • Electives - choose at least five:
    • Hazardous Materials
    • Permit-Required Confined Spaces
    • Lockout/Tagout
    • Machine Guarding
    • Welding, Cutting and Brazing
    • Introduction to Industrial Hygiene
    • Blood-borne Pathogens
    • Ergonomics
    • Safety and Health Program
    • Fall Protection 
    • Powered Industrial Vehicles
  • 7 hours can be catered to exploring additional electives or focus on a specific industry

Not everyone can fork over a full week dedicated to safety training, so class frequency is customizable. Let us know the frequency that works for you or your organization and we'll do our best to accommodate.
